Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 18, 2025
Introduction
FrameReady ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS mobile application (the "App").
Important: FrameReady is designed with privacy in mind. We do not create user accounts, do not store your photos on our servers, and process all images temporarily for AI analysis only. The App operates primarily on your local device.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Photos and Images
When you use the App, you provide photos of your room for AI analysis. These images are:
- Sent temporarily to third-party AI services for analysis
- Not stored on our servers
- Immediately discarded after AI processing is complete
- Never used for training AI models without explicit consent
What we analyze: Room colors, lighting, style, mood, and spatial characteristics to recommend complementary artwork.
1.2 Device Information
We may automatically collect certain information about your device, including:
- Device type and model (e.g., iPhone 14 Pro)
- Operating system version (e.g., iOS 17.2)
- App version
- Unique device identifiers (for crash reporting and analytics)
- IP address (temporary, for API requests only)
1.3 Samsung Frame TV Connection
When you connect to a Samsung Frame TV:
- The App discovers devices on your local network only
- We store TV device names and connection details locally on your device
- Artwork is sent directly from your device to your TV (peer-to-peer)
- We do not access, store, or transmit data from your Samsung TV
1.4 Usage and Analytics
We may collect aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve the App, including:
- Feature usage statistics (e.g., number of photos analyzed)
- Crash reports and error logs
- Performance metrics (e.g., load times, API response times)
This data is anonymized and cannot be traced back to you personally.
1.5 Purchase Information
In-app purchase transactions for premium features are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive only confirmation that a purchase was made, not your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how they handle payment information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide core functionality: Analyze room photos and recommend artwork
- Process AI requests: Send images to third-party AI services for analysis, then immediately discard them
- Connect to your TV: Enable artwork delivery to Samsung Frame TVs on your network
- Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns (anonymized) to fix bugs and add features
- Communicate with you: Respond to support requests (only if you contact us)
- Comply with legal obligations: Respond to legal requests or enforce our Terms
We do NOT: Sell your data, use your photos for advertising, or share personal information with third parties except as described in this policy.
3. Third-Party Services
3.1 Third-Party AI Services
We use third-party AI services to analyze your room photos. When you request artwork recommendations:
- Your photo is sent to third-party AI providers over an encrypted connection
- Third-party AI services process the image and return recommendations
- These providers do not store your images or use them for training (per their commercial terms)
- Processing is done in accordance with our vendors' privacy policies
3.2 Apple App Store & In-App Purchases
All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not collect or store credit card information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
3.3 Analytics Providers (If Applicable)
We may use third-party analytics services in the future to understand how users interact with the App. If implemented, these services will collect only anonymized data (e.g., "User opened the app 3 times today") and will be disclosed here. Currently, no third-party analytics are active.
4. Data Storage and Retention
4.1 Local Storage Only
FrameReady is designed as a local-first app. All your data is stored on your device:
- Artwork preferences and history
- Samsung TV connection settings
- In-app purchase status
4.2 No Server-Side Photo Storage
Your photos are never stored on our servers. Here's what happens:
- You take or select a photo
- The App sends it to third-party AI services for analysis (encrypted in transit)
- AI services process the image and return text recommendations
- The image is immediately discarded from memory
- Only the text recommendations are kept (locally on your device)
4.3 Retention Period
Since we don't store personal data on servers, there's no retention period. If you delete the App, all local data is removed from your device. Crash logs and anonymized analytics may be retained for up to 90 days.
5. App Permissions
The App requires the following iOS permissions:
5.1 Camera Access
Why we need it: To let you take photos of your room directly in the App.
How we use it: Only when you tap the camera button. Photos are processed immediately and not stored.
5.2 Photo Library Access
Why we need it: To let you select existing room photos from your library.
How we use it: You choose which photos to share. We only access photos you explicitly select.
5.3 Local Network Access
Why we need it: To discover and connect to Samsung Frame TVs on your Wi-Fi network.
How we use it: Only to send artwork to your TV. We don't access other devices or collect network data.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → FrameReady. The App will prompt you to re-enable them when needed.
6. Your Privacy Rights
6.1 Access and Deletion
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
- Access: All data is already on your device and visible in the App
- Delete: Delete the App to remove all local data, or use in-app settings to clear specific data
- Export: Currently not supported, as data is minimal and stored locally
6.2 GDPR Rights (European Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under GDPR:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold (though we hold minimal data)
- Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Right to Restrict Processing: Limit how we use your data
- Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
- Right to Object: Object to certain processing activities
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@frameready.app.
6.3 CCPA Rights (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: Request information about personal data we collect, use, and disclose
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal data
- Right to Opt-Out: Opt out of the sale of personal data (note: we do not sell personal data)

7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit: All API requests use HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Local storage security: Data on your device is protected by iOS's built-in encryption
- No long-term storage: Photos are never stored on our servers
- Minimal data collection: We collect only what's necessary to operate the App
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App or provide any information.
If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, contact us at support@frameready.app.
9. International Data Transfers
The App is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate.
By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws than your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers, including using service providers with GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App or by other means.
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
11. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. Because there is no common understanding of how to interpret DNT signals, the App does not currently respond to browser DNT signals. However, as a local-first app with minimal tracking, your privacy is already protected by design.
12. Contact Information
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us:
Email: support@frameready.app
Subject Line: Privacy Inquiry
We will respond to all legitimate requests within 30 days (or as required by applicable law).
